Do you know what to wear for Christmas? If you haven’t planned your outfit yet, take a look at some Christmassy inspiration including clothes and accessories!
While looking for affordable festive clothes, I came across Wholesale7*, an online store with trendy plus size clothing and tons of options for your wardrobe and your home. If the name Wholesale7 rings you a bell, it’s because I’ve selected some really cool accessories under $5 on a previous post that I recommend you to read as well.
THE CHRISTMAS SPARKLE
‘Tis the season to be jolly… and sparkly! Nothing screams Christmas more than glitter and sequins, especially if they are golden, silver, red or green. The most popular sequined item are cocktail dresses. They usually feature some interesting draping, hard shoulders or an asymetric detail.
A perfect alternative to dresses are jumpsuits: you keep the same glamour but adding a cool and modern spin to it. A solid red jumpsuit is a winner, I even wore myself one for Christmas in this post and everyone loved it. Sequins and metallics are always welcome.
CHRISTMAS SWEATERS
While sparkles are perfect for Christmas parties, sweaters are ideal for a nice family gathering. They’re a classic for a reason! You can pair them with jeans and Uggs or suede boots and you’re ready to spend the day drinking eggnog and wrapping presents.
Naturally, Christmas sweaters can come with a twist as well. If you’re younger or simply want something funnier, you can opt for a humorous Christmas sweatshirt. Sometimes they come alone or as part of a women’s tracksuit set, which is great because you don’t have to think of how you pair your top.
SOLID CHRISTMASSY COLOURS
Fully sequined outfits are not for everyone. Solid colours can appeal just as much in a more elegant, understated way. Traditional Christmas colours like green, red, blue and white look exquisite in luxurious fabrics like velvet or cashmere. Black is also a popular choice even though is not part of the traditional colours per se.
If you’re wearing solid colours this Christmas, feel free to experiment with accessories and details like pearls, tassels, lurex tights or embellished headbands.
ACCESSORIES
Say you already have the outfit but you’re looking for that extra festive touch that only a Christmas accessory can give you. From small items like a wreath necklace or Christmas tree earrings, to eye-catching red shoes with bows that simulate Christmas presents, you decide how festive you want to look.
I hope you liked this festive inspiration for your upcoming Christmas outfit!
