So, as you can tell from the title this post is going to be all about textures. I think textures add such an interesting factor to any outfit, just like any pattern or cuts in the shapes.
What from a first glance can look like an otherwise basic outfit, it’s full in textures as you come closer. Every item on this look has a different and interesting texture: the hat, the stretchy turtleneck, the corduroy skirt, the velvet rounded bag and the faux-leather patent boots. I received the last two items from Dresslily* a couple of months ago, and they blew my mind for how cool they looked in real life.
Let’s start with the boots. I‘m a sucker for black ankle boots, I notice I buy at least a new pair every winter lol, I can’t help it. This one is a style I was dying to try since the moment it hit the stores: shiny, almost-plastic-looking faux leather patent boots. Gone are days where this material was reserved for dominatrix only 😉 Ironically, this particular pair by Dresslily has some S&M inspiration if you think about it. Not only because of the use of the patent leather material but also because of the zipper and circle that hangs from the zipper when you zip it up. It reminds me of the details on S&M chokers or something. Well this whole paragraph can be easily misunderstood lol so I’ll stop here.
As for the bag, it’s one of the cutest bags I ever got. I love anything that has to do with the moon, stars and constellations so this rounded velvet bag with a golden constellation embroidery was the cutest thing I‘ve seen in a while. I saw on their Instagram that many people loved it as well so I’m assuming it’s one of Dresslily’s best sellers in the bag section, and I can totally see why! 🙂
