Hey lovelies! In today’s post, my skincare review goes deeper. I’ll be talking about a great balm by Swissforce that reduces three skin conditions that affect many of us: couperose, thread and spider veins.

Before jumping into the review I thought it would be useful to clarify some definitions so that you all know what I’m talking about.

What’s couperose?

Couperose skin is characterized by the visible presence of capillaries which are usually bright red in color and occur due to poor elasticity of the capillary walls. Couperose is a condition where the skin appears red and flushed, particularly on the neck, cheeks and nose, due to the presence of small, dilated red blood vessels.

What Causes Couperose?

Couperose is caused by both external and genetic factors.  A thicker, darker skin with normal or slightly increased sebum is less likely to fall victim to couperose due to its increased insulation; while a thin, fair, dry skin is much more vulnerable. When the intrinsic predisposition of our skin is combined with external aggressions, the development of couperose accelerates.

What are spider veins?

Spider veins are smaller, red, purple, and blue vessels that also twist and turn. Spider veins are easily visible through the skin, as well. They are typically visible on the legs and face.

What does the product say?

Balancing care for redness and couperose. The nourishing balm strengthens skin and blood vessels, reduces the appearance of couperose, thread and spider veins. The unique ingredient blend protects and soothes the skin, preserves its harmonious, soft and even nature.

My Experience

I’ve always had some visible red vessels on the cheeks and around the nose, and a few purple-ish vessels on the jaw area. I could cover them (mostly) with a good foundation but I knew they were there and that wasn’t cool. Last month I kindly receive this balm by Swissforce and I’ve been applying it in the morning and at night for a couple of weeks. The balm feels just like a regular cream when it comes to texture. The color is a super light shade of green and it has like a soft pleasant perfume that vanishes as soon as you apply it to your skin. It is absorbed in a matter of minutes it leaves a moisturizing feeling. It might feel a bit oily if you have combination skin and apply it under the nose like me.

So far I could notice it has definitely reduce the brightness of the red vessels and a bit of the darker ones too. Although I’m aware that the condition in my skin wasn’t as serious as in some people, I can tell you this balm is working! I’m sure it would reduce significantly Couperose and spider veins in those who have it even more visible than mine.

The verdict

All in all, I think this product delivers. The clean design and almost pharmaceutical-like presentation do a good job showing how serious and trustworthy the brand and its products are. The addition of calendula (known for its anti-inflammatory benefits) brings some freshness and a natural feeling to this balm, and certainly plays a huge role in reducing the appearance of skin redness. Based on my experience, I recommend you to try this Couperose, Thread & Spider Veins Balm by Swissforce. 🙂
