Leopard and animal print in general have been quietly crawling into my wardrobe. First I thought it was it kinda aged me. Then I thought it was a Fall/Winter print. Now? Now, leopard and white are my summer go-tos.
My love affair with animal print had a shy start with just a scarf. The scarf would add a nice pattern to my otherwise monochromatic Fall outfit. I then got a gorgeous pair of leopard print stilettos. Oh those shoes were one of my top 10 favourite pairs! I left them in Argentina but I can wait to bring them to the UK as they’re so elegant and timeless.
Clothing-wise, I had what I called a «muted» animal print suede skater mini skirt. By «muted» I meant the print was subtle and purposely faded. That skirt was only part of my Fall/Winter wardrobe back then, mostly because of the thick suede fabric.
Last year I had a lovely collab with LoveTheSales where, among other items, I got a lightweight leopard blazer. It serves as a stylish layer to any outfit, even the plainest ones! I then got myself this cute midi skirt from I Saw It First. This skirt works perfectly with one of my favourite summer combos: white.
White sneakers and a plain tee immediately makes everything younger and fresher. I love the contrast of such a rich pattern like leopard with the simplicity of white. I found myself doing the exact same combination with my latest animal print addition: a mini skirt. My husband is already asking me if he should be scared for his life as I seem to be turning into Carol Baskin, lol.
