Hey babes! First of all, I wanted to let you know in case you haven’t noticed that I’ve been taking a bit of a break from photoshoots and OOTD posts. Many things have been going on since I came back home and shortly after that, the already known Holiday madness left me with little to no time for photoshoots. This month my photographer is out of town so I had to ask one of my friends to take pictures of me (felt like the old days lol) so probably next week I’ll finally have some streetstyle content to upload.

This unexpected “half” break also served me as a time to disconnect a bit from my laptop and my phone. Social media wise, I focused on growing my Twitter account for a change (that means you can follow me as @stylebydeb and I’ll follow you back <3) and updating my Instagram as much as possible but not every day. Again, this won’t actually last, it’s just a kind of break that I felt almost obliged to take given the circumstances but the same Style by Deb (a.k.a the personal style blog and me as a constant visitor of your lovely blogs) will be back in just a few weeks. 🙂

In this post I thought it would be nice to share some relatively new makeup products I’m currently using. There will be a Part II if you guys like this one.

L’ORÉAL INFALLIBLE TOTAL COVER

I’ve been a fan of the L’Oréal Infallible line since it came out. My Infallible Pro Matte was my go-to drugstore foundation and no matter which one I tried I would always come back to that one. A while ago I decided to give another Infallible a try: the Total Cover. The first thing I noticed was the different texture. While the Pro Matte is more liquiddish, the Total Cover feels like a lightweight mouse that runs beautifully in your skin. I’ve heard some reviews saying it’s not the best option for dry skin, though, so if that’s your case you may wanna wear some good moisturizer before applying this foundation. In my case, I have combination skin and I have no real issues with dry patches or anything like that.

Lasting was pretty impressive. It is definitely a longwear foundation. You can get up to 7 hours without it fading, and even more with some touch ups. As for the “Total Cover”, I can tell you it’s really well pigmented. It evens my skin tone with a slightly matte finish but still leaving some glow. And I insist on the weightless feel while you’re wearing it. Would I repurchase it? Absolutely!

MUA 15 SHADE PALETTE “FIRE VIXEN” EYESHADOWS

This palette is fire indeed! With 15 earthy tones and some bright oranges and fuchsias, Mua’s “Fire Vixen” has become my summer eyeshadow palette. The group includes 8 matte hues, 5 pearl hues and 2 mixes. I have to say the pearl-almost-metallic tones are the ones that I love the most, and there were some disappointing ones as well.

Numbers 2, 4, 10 and 11 are my favorite ones: beautiful pearl finish, high pigmentation, long lasting (especially number 10), and the shades themselves are gorgeous, ranging from a warm champagne to an irresistible bronze. I truly loved them!!

The ones I didn’t quite like were 3, 6 and 12. My main disappointment with numbers 3 and 6 was that I thought they were going to be more earth-like, but instead of having the brown-ish undertone I desired, they stuck to the warm orange undertone that in real life goes a bit too orange, to be honest, and it’s not that versatile anymore. And as for number 12 well, it’s way too orange for my taste haha, I don’t use bright colors in my eyes because I already make them pop with a thick cat eye so no, it simply doesn’t fit in my regular makeup looks.

(Don’t laught at my arm lol)

L’ORÉAL INFALLIBLE 24-HOUR MATTE POWDER

Last but not least, my powder at the moment is also from the Infallible line from L’Oréal and I picked the matte formula because I only tend to use powders when I want to control de shine. During winter for example, I barely use powder because it kinda dries my skin. The feel is soft and nice, I apply it on my t zone and after 5 or 6 hours I might need to touch it up on my nose if I’m wearing the Total Cover foundation (doesn’t happen with the pro matte). I like this powder but I don’t have much previous experience with powders so I can’t really compare it that much. Would love to hear your thoughts about best powders for combination skin!

I hope you liked these mini reviews, lovelies! I’ve planned a part II featuring my current eyeliner, mascara and lipsticks so it will be up soon. Let me know if you tried any of these products in the comments!

xoxo
