Hi babes! So, today I wanted to try something different and get into the beauty realm for a post š Iām not a beauty blogger but I do LOVE makeup haha so it would be fun to write this beauty post for a change. If you guys enjoy reading it then let me know in the comments and Iāll be happy to write more posts like this in the future. š
Itās been a while since I last tried a product from Avon. I think the last time I bought something from them was when the whole matte lipstick boom came out and I got a dark pink one that actually appears in these photos as the second lipstick, almost as a prop. In case youāre interested in the shade, itās called Ā āMauve Mattersā from the Ultra Color Ultra Matte line (I loved that tone). The āmainā lipstick is what I recently got along with a CC Cream, and those are the products Iām gonna review now.
PURE PINK ULTRA MATTE LIPSTICK – SPF15
Still not tired of matte lipsticks, I purchased this āPURE PINKā lipstick from the True Color Ultra Matte line. Is it really matte? Definitely yes. Maybe a teeny-tiny drying too, but my lips tend to be dry (thatās why I canāt live without my petroleum jelly!) so I canāt be objective on that one. It still looks matte though if you apply whatever moisturizer you use before, so thatās a good thing. š
One of my favorite bits from this lipstick is the application part: it literally feels like youāre being touched by a rose petal (!) Iām not trying to be poetical here lol, it *literally* feels like a petal, itās mind-blowing how soft it is! And the result is an ultra matte almost velvet-y finish.
Lasting is āokayā, I mean, it wonāt last more than about 2 hours without the need of a touch up. However, pigmentation is good so if you donāt re-apply it youāll still see at least a faded shade. Is it kiss-proof? I couldnāt tell you that cause Iām in a long distance relationship, trololol. (Sorry, I joke around too much sometimes! Thatās how I talk in real life lol sorry, bear with me š )
One little downside of this lipstick is that is more pink-ish than nude-ish, you know what I mean? I mean duh, the name is āPure Pinkā but in my defense, when you open it, it does look quite on the nude side, however when you apply it itās kind of a different story.
AVON TRUE COLOR IDEAL FACE CC CREAM – SPF50
First of all, you can tell Iām new to this beauty reviewing thing cause I didnāt take a photo of the ingredients of this CC Cream, my apologies for that!
So, unfortunately, Iām a bit disappointed by this CC Cream.Ā I think the cons overweight the pros and it might end up in me not re-purchasing the product. The Pros? A. Lightest shade worked well on my skin tone, and B. It has SPF50, do I need to say more? š
As for the cons, the coverage is my main disappointment: I get that you wonāt have the same coverage as a normal foundation and itās supposed to be even lighter than a BB Cream, BUT for a CC Cream that claims to even your skin tone it falls short, to be honest. Coverage is way too light for its purpose of covering redness and some dark circles in order to achieve an even skin tone. It might work well as a primer, but thatās not what it says on the package.
The second problem I have with this is that turns out itās not for all skin types as it reads on the package box. I have combination to dry skin (depending on the season) being my nose the troubled oily area. Surprise, surprise, after an hour of applying this āoil-freeā CC Cream, my nose started to look shiny and a bit oily.
In conclusion: The Pure Pink Ultra Matte lipstick feels like rose petals in your lips but color will fade relatively quickly. Yet, itās not a bad product.
The True Color Ideal Face SPF50 CC Cream could be a good primer with high SPF protection (perhaps avoiding oily areas for those who have combination skin) but itās lacking the main purpose of a CC Cream which is color correction.
I hope you enjoyed reading this review and Iād love to hear whatās your go-to CC Cream right now (or BB Cream if you donāt use CC).
xoxo
