If you’ve been following the blog for a while you might find the name Anatomicals a bit familiar. That’s because I reviewed their amazing face masks in this post, but this time I’m here to talk about their newest addition to the family: the Anatomicals and ain’t that the tooth whitening toothpaste with supermint + brilliant baking soda* and the Anatomicals and ain’t that the tooth the better brush* duo.

We all long a perfect smile and pearl-white teeth. Baking soda and charcoal have been always a major help, but what happens when the ingredients don’t stay only in the toothpaste but they’re also part of the toothbrush? Anatomicals came with the brilliant idea of designing a toothbrush made with Binchotan charcoal in its bristles (also known as White Charcoal, it’s a type of activated charcoal originally from Japan) to help whiten teeth, remove plaque and even neutralise the chlorine in tap water. Also bear in mind that when used in dental care, Binchotan Charcoal is antibacterial and anti-fungal, and may help to reduce plaque build up as well as bad breath.

I was super excited to try this toothbrush because I never had one infused with charcoal before. It surprised me to feel it was like a regular toothbrush, and I actually loved the soft bristles, they’re gentle to my gums and you can’t taste any weird flavour or charcoal taste. The toothbrush came in a lovely pink Anatomicals case that has a funny message at the back (humour is the brand’s signature and their witty messages written all over the packaging and product are always so cool and clever). The cute case comes handy for travelling and it’s also great to keep your brush as hygiene as possible.

The toothpaste is made with supermint and baking soda, and it claims to brighten and whiten teeth while fighting plaque formation. Featuring a special formulation that contains no harmful peroxides, parabens or fluoride, this whitening toothpaste is also said to help remove stains and aids in the prevention of cavities. I do notice by teeth being brighter than usual, and probably by then end of the toothpaste I’ll notice them whiter, but so far it’s too soon to tell. I use it twice a day (morning and night) and I didn’t have any negative reaction like sensibility or such. The tube comes with 125 ml of product so I can almost assure you that you’ll see results after finishing it because that’s a great amount of product.

The mix of ingredients in both products is a winner. Every time I brush my teeth I feel the cleaning is double because of the combination of charcoal, baking soda and supermint. The formula of the toothpaste is not aggressive at all, it’s actually quite mild, so it’s perfect for peeps who can’t tolerate strong products but still want the best results from a mild one.

All in all, this is another score from Anatomicals. Having tried their face masks before and now this toothbrush and toothpaste duo, I can only say this is a brand you definitely need to try. You can buy their products online on Boots, Asos and Superdrug, or simply check their Instagram! Have you ever tried a charcoal infused toothbrush?
