4 tips for picking your ideal wedding venue

Congratulations! You’ve finally decided to tie that knot. Now, it’s time to plan for your special day. Regardless of the factors that you must consider, your venue is very important. Everything about your wedding can be optional, from the wedding cake to the floral touch— but not your wedding.

You must ensure that the venue you select is ideal for the type of wedding you want. But finding the place of your dreams isn’t easy, especially with so many options to choose from. If you need help picking, here are a few tips to consider:

  1. Think about what you both want

Don’t be surprised to receive many recommendations from friends and loved ones about what venue to choose. But at the end of the day, you must think about what you want as a couple. Work together to decide what type of venue will be more meaningful to you.

For example, you could pick a location you both fantasised about or a venue that holds sentimental value for you as a couple. Alternatively, you can communicate your dreams and preferences to experts in wedding planning services and let them search for you based on those preferences, so keep this in mind.

  1. Remember your budget

Admittedly, the venue you select would depend significantly on your budget. When considering your budget, do not focus on the cost of the venue alone. Instead, factor in other expenses like transportation costs to the venue, decor, and other services the venue may come with, such as in-house catering. The venue alone may not cost much, but these additional expenses can easily blow your budget out of the water. So, be sure to keep your budget in mind.

  1. Consider your guests

While your wedding is your special day, you cannot ignore those who will grace the occasion – your guests. Think about guests that may have to travel out of town to make it, and consider a venue that isn’t too far for them. You can also think about making transport arrangements for expected guests who may have travel difficulties.

Speaking of guests, it’s also important to confirm your guest list before paying for any venue. You want to be sure that you have the right number of expected guests that can fill up your venue. You don’t want to end up paying for a venue that is too spacious or not spacious enough for your guests.

  1. Think about your preferred wedding day activities and other details

Do you want a wide dance floor where guests can get their boogie on? Do you prefer a venue with already provided decor, furniture, etc.? What about parking space? The activities you have planned and other wedding day details can determine what type of venue is ideal for you. You may also want to factor in the weather or season. For example, you may dream about having your wedding at a beach. But this can prove to be a massive challenge during a rainy or snowy season.
